First Family

The First Family — a multi-generational clan of heroic explorers. The first generation, beginning in the 1950 was the brilliant Dr. Augustus Furst and his brother Julius Furst, monster-hunters and adventurers into the unknown.

The second generation includes Dr. Furst's adopted children (Nikolai/Nick Furst and Natalie Furst), the twin children of one of Dr. Furst's ex-wives and one of the First Family's recurrent foes, Kaspian, prince of the eastern European Beast-Men. The twins can manipulate an unusual form of energy. When Natalie married Rex Zorus, the powerful, dinosaur-like son of another longtime enemy, Madame Majestrix, he joined the group as well.

The third generation, to date, is Astra Furst, Natalie and Rex's daughter. She is able to transform herself completely into an energy essence, tapping into the the same energy sources that her mother and uncle can manipulate.

Base of Operations: Astro City at the First Family's Headquarters on Mount Kirby. The had an orbital base, Platform F, or at least did in the 70's, during which they lived there for a time.

Resources

Family-1: A jet (except when it's not) that serves as the First Family's primary mode of long-range transportation. It has a shapeshifting ability and has been seen 1) forming a raw hole in its bottom to allow the Fursts quick exit and 2) transforming into a submersible watercraft.

Uniforms: The family's uniforms can be reprogrammed to transform from the familiar orange-and-black jumpsuit into other types of clothing, including an insulated hooded parka and even pajamas. Each uniform also includes a locator chip.

Cerebra-Circuit: A device that attaches to the forehead and protects against mental domination powers, such as those possessed by the Silver Brain. While the Fursts don't wear the devices as a matter of course, they can pull them out when preparing to face a foe of a telepathic nature.

In addition to the above, Augustus Furst has invented countless other works of technology over the years, and many are at the First Family's disposal, to be taken into adventures as needed.
