Talk:Astra Furst
From Herocopia
I noticed IB changed references of Rex as "reptilian" to "amphibian." I'm not sure this accurate - he's seen wearing a breathing mask underwater when he heads to his home town. Also, in the sketch book section of Life in the Big City, Kurt notes that the current look was inspired when they realized that "Rex" could also refer to "tyrannosaurus."

Yeppers! You right. I was editing at work (while waiting for Websphere Portal software to install - it takes forever) and didn't have reference source at hand.
It's especially bad on my part since I realized a longtime ago, you could make a pun out of "The Tyrant, Zorus Rex" something I'm sure Kurt had in mind from the get go.
And just let me add, your contributions here have been great, this Astra entry especially caught me eye.

Where is the July 8th birthing date mentioned?

Her DOB is listed on the milk carton in one of the "Astra on her own adventure" issues. I can't believe I caught it. :) Thanks for the compliments - I'm having tons of fun (I just feel a little weird about rewriting other people's stuff, so I've been shying away from any of the articles that already have lots of info).
Great catch with the Rex pun... I totally missed that...

Excellent! I have so noted it in the database as well. It will show up on the next upload.
re: shyness to "rewriting"
Think of it as correcting, or improving, either of those will take the weirdness away. Besides I'm looking forward to you doing all that "powers and stuff" entries. That is a least desired section for me.

LOL - that stuff is my favorite part. :)

Astra's Name
First off nice job, Yiding on all the updating and detail working.
I was curious in the new issue, when I saw Astra's name was different from what was previously mentioned in her two-parter... And I guess the presumed changing of Rex's last name too... Someone may want to double check but I'm pretty sure the info was shown on the milk carton in the story too. Probably a simple solution or answer, but just putting it here for possible discussion/future reference.

Thanks a lot, Astrozac.
I just checked the earlier Astra story, and the earlier name is indeed written on the milk carton within the story. That's the only place it appears; the carton on the cover doesn't mention her name.
Maybe that name was just placeholder text, like when newspaper articles sometimes break the fourth wall. Anyway, my gut instinct is to go with the new name, as it was actually spoken by someone in the story.
Is Rex ever referred to as having the surname Zorus anywhere else? If not, perhaps we can consider that no longer canon.
Yiding
Possibly..I just checked the Annotations and Who's Who, and according to the Annotations Zorus was first mentioned there. It also mentions that the milk carton has an error saying Astra's eyes are blue when they are green... The only other time I can think it might be referenced was in issue 4 at Bruisers or if it appeared on the inside cover with a mini-who's who during the Confession storyline...
It could be as simple as she changed her name(though Nadia being her maternal grandmother's name would seem unlikely) and it's Rex's real last name and Majestros is official or his father's name or something...
EDIT: I removed on her appearances, the Visitor's Guide, since she didn't appear in the story(I'm pretty sure)...
