Talk:Starwoman

Hmmm? Where does it say Starwoman was active prior to 1948?
Zack
I think the pre-1948 comment, was me linking events backwards based on other actions that Steeljack mentioned or did, but right now I can't think of anything previous to the early 1950s event, when he and his mom are watching Starwoman from their apartment window.
I've also assumed, and this could be totally wrong, that Starwoman had a longer lifespan than we mere earthlings.
So maybe all that nice wording needs to be dropped and new word-smithing be done.
Which brings me to another point of concern. Given that we are just as prone to false assumptions as any other fan-site, maybe we should put a big giant disclaimer on the main page - making it clear that this site is basically fan-driven with the exception of JG's input of course.
I've noticed one appender at the main wiki site point here for his citation approval. I don't think he got it, but the attempt alone is not a good thing. I'll be monitoring that to be sure things don't get out of hand.

Appearance List content and Timelines
I think we do need to find a way to sort out appearances. I'm for the sort of simple just list the issues where character a appears(e.g. 2:3, 2:5) or maybe put mentioned if they're not a major character and are only name dropped. Like the stuff you have here with Starwoman, I think would be better served in the info section. But on the other hand I do like some of the mentions that are put besides the appearances.
Zack
I'm cool with the Appearance List containing only on-panel activity. But there is so much valid information with the Timeline list, and my intent for that is to link any valid creator sourced event to the character. This was one of my main motivators way back in 2003 - when we were heavy into discussing the Honor Guard. I wanted a means to link all the tidbits of information that Kurt was dropping in the comics. In my original webpages, pre-wiki, even pre-working with JG, I had two lists - similar in nature to how Starwoman's is now. (Course I'm with you, I like a brief summary).
I don't want to scatter and inject these event annotations into the info sections. We would loose the chronological relationship. plus a reader/researcher has to go digging for it.
I have also added two new timeline pages (which depending on what we decide to do here, will need some name changing). Those lists are a gathering point of all the events, across the board, so there is one place to go for even easier retrieval. These I also meant to have as part of a project like this pretty much from the get go.
I suppose we could limit the character pages to just the appearance list and keep the event information/annotations gathered in mass on those timeline pages, but I kinda want and like it on the character pages as well.
I don't mind having the two separate listings on the character pages. The down side is some might find it redundant, especially if they just glance and casual read the entries.

Well after further pondering, and testing the look n feel, and fixing the anchors, I think I've come up with a pertty nifty way to handle the timelines without their information overwhelming the Appearance List section. Let me know what you think Zack.
(If you want to see both lists on this page, do some checking of the history).
