Vincent Oleck
From Herocopia
As a lawyer, he invented the so-called "superhero defense" in 1974, clearing Richard Forgione of murder.

Under current law, when superhuman involvement is suspected, a higher standard of evidence (than normally applied) is required for convictions. However, to invoke this higher standard, the defense now must first show evidence of superhuman activity relevant to the case. This wasn't true when Vincent first attempted this defense.
Shortly after Richard Forgione was cleared, both he and his father, "Junior" Forgione, were gunned down by the Blue Knight. Interestingly, at almost the same time, hundreds of miles away, a number of Forgione Mob associates were also gunned down, apparently also by the Blue Knight, as they approached the cabin where Vincent Oleck and his family had fled, following the trial.
