This template and EventCharElem are now pretty much interchangeable. Their code is identical and the properties for setting the element type is handle from information on the source page, be that a character or non-character page.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
If I could get the robots working I would deprecate these templates and have the event page call the EventElement template directly instead of going through this template, which I originally envisioned as doing a lot more intermediate work on characters or devices depending on which template got called.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
For now both templates will stay in play. When I have time I will figure out a more strategic direction for this, and adjust the code accordingly.&lt;br /&gt;
