An Avian Alliance History The members are intensely private individuals. Over the years they resist presenting themselves publicly. They haven't given interviews. Nightflyer and Sunshrike Sunshrike and Nightingale Nightingale and Sunbird Sunbird and ??? Powers On the surface, powers seem to fluctuate a bit based on current members, but there are three common themes that persist. Avian: flying, wings, claws and beaks Nocturnal: stealth, cloaking Solar: flares, radiant energies It is not know if the powers of the team members are naturally derived, or source from special technology passed on from old to new as the roster changes. Equipment Their living quarters are shared with their working offices. Lab, fancy scientific gear, expensive workstations. This "base" is also assumed to be sponsored and kept secret. Observations According to Nightingale's first teammate, Sunshrike, there are only the two members of this avian-themed team active at any one time. One representing the "bird of light" and the other the "bird of shadow". This suggests they are legacy characters, with new women taking the roles in an alternating fashion, one a mentor, the other the learning sidekick. Given the age differences, it seems to be generational. Nightingale is the younger in the 80s with Sunshrike, and she gains experience and matures to become the elder in the 90s with Sunbird. There is also speculation a familial connection might be in play with who takes up the legacies. Sunshrike also thinks it wouldn't be allowed for them to have a cat as part of the team, hinting that some external agency may be involved with sponsoring this pair of avian heroes. Speculations, Theories Kurt's pattern when introducing new characters that play a dominant role, is to find a moment in the story to present their full names. Both Sunshrike and Nightingale are presented with only their first names (Leah and Ginny). It's quite possible that these names are also not real, but code names used to protect their identities short and long term. Note that this is fan speculation of the highest order, based on really thin feelings or observation. Perhaps E.A.G.L.E. is the secret benefactor and this Avian team is a covert extension. E.A.G.L.E has shared critical and sensitive data, technical apparatus.
