It's not clear what happened to her, but writer Sally Twinings felt that after Penny's disappearance, "the comic stories turned into formula crap." In Astro City No.5, a 1960s' issue of Penny Bright Comics appears on The Broken Man's Wall. What relevance it may have to the Broken Man or the Oubor is unknown.
