N-Field
Ed Nicholls and Davison Royce discovered it in the 1950s. One of its unique properties is the ability to transmit signals through the N-field from source to destination instantaneously. It's a complete violation any known physics. Sound, video proven to be uninterrupted and instant, even from distances as far away as IO, one of Jupiter's four Galilean Moons.
Its deployment on Rover focuses on finding theorized "Dimensional Pinholes. Then stimuli and subquark frequencies are cycled through, causing dimples that are the trigger to barrage something called the Aetheric with Mandelbrot probes.
Whatever. It seems to work and from a layman's perspective that is all that matters.
Speculations
There are additional questions, not just about how the N-field works, but in how many different ways has N.R.Gistic Enterprises deployed its amazing powers. It is almost certainly a part of what enables the N-Forcer's powers. What other inventions have the talented engineers devised and put to use. What additional discoveries are being researched in the labs? The answers are mainly cloaked in trade secrets, intellectual property rights, and even the gobble-gook trade talk (see above) that only advanced and well educated scientist can understand.
